The celebration of Balzan Day in 2021 took the form of a concert with the participation of the localities two band clubs; Socjeta Filmarmonika Marija Annunzjata and Kazin tal-Banda San Gabriel. The two bands entertained those in attendance with a wonderful selection of music for all tastes. The evening was hosted by veteran presenter Joe Gabriel Vella, himself a former recipient of Gieh Hal Balzan.

This year’s recipients where Prof. Joseph Mary Brincat (International level), Prof. Godfrey Laferla (National level), Mr. Emanuel Borg (Local level), Notary Ian Spiteri (former Mayor), Mr. Daniel Muscat Caruana (former Councilor), Mr. Joseph Mary Galea (former Councilor) and Mr. Desmond Zammit Marmara (former Councilor).

The event was addressed by Mayor Angelo Micallef who thanked all those in attendance and the band societies for their invaluable help. The Mayor also thanked the Central Region for the funding which made the event possible.
